KMEA Mentoring Network
We have some fabulous new resources on the KMEA website that are designed to help new music teachers. These resources are the result of a lot of hard work by the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Committee of KMEA.

Request a Mentor
If you would like to have a mentor, someone you can call or email when you need ideas or "help!!!", this is a great resource. It only takes a minute to sign up and it could be your "lifeline" for the school year.

New Teacher Handbook
The New Teacher Handbook has tons of useful advice, forms, dates, etc. posted by people who have been there. This info is so good it is of value to any teacher, regardless of experience.

Finally, if you need help, don't be afraid to ask. If you can give help, don't be too busy to give it. If you know of new music teachers in your schools, please let me know. Together, we can fight "music teacher burnout". Thanks for all that you do.
